Reports from the Republican convention, recently
Just got back into town in the middle of last week from a wedding out of town. I saw the news about the postponement of the GOP national convention when I came into contact via CNN with civilization once more.
Then I saw the following news item a few minutes ago in my e-mail box:
[Friday, September 5, 2008
Two Austin men arrested with Molotov cocktails at GOP convention
David Guy McKay, 22, and Bradley Neil Crowder, 23, were each charged Friday with one count of possession of firearms.]
It just beats me hollow to imagine what could have been the incentive or motive. Has politics gone haywire now, even before the presidential elections in November?
By the way, in case you were wondering, a Molotov cocktail is a rag stuffed into a bottle of kerosene and intended to be lit at one end and thrown at a target to shatter and spray the contained fuel and fire in either an explosion or an incendiary debacle.
