A few things to sadden your day, if you are bored already anyway
I came across some news stories today that gave me some food for thought. Is life really getting better as time ticks on?
I know that each person's level or load of responsibilities or circumstances will determine the particular or general answer to be given but the news seems so depressing - or, more accurately, not so uplifting.
Whatever the case, let me share the following briefs with you:
1. An abducted baby - stolen from her mother about a year earlier on - was almost illegally put up for adoption in Guatemala.
2. If three Air Force high-security personnel could fall asleep at their duty post, what other scary things would air Traffic Controllers be capable of doing on a hectic airport shift?
3. A 68-year old man living in sexual bondage with several prostitutes simultaneously is fine in court and liable to receive a payout of a small fortune by any news media that reports it as such, even if a participant filmed the weird action.
4. The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled as stock prices dove over 2% during the week from the housing slump, high unemployment rate, and the hike in petroleum-based fuel prices - in spite of attempts by the House of Representatives to reverse the ugly trend by releasing sweet crude from the strategic reserve.
