Who Refills Mehdizadeh’s Prescription Vending Machines?
That, at least, is what the responsible federal authorities in the USA would like to find out from the entrepreneur/inventor, who has deployed and sold quite a few of his medical marijuana vending machines in California and probably 11 other states in the union.
IMHO, the issue is not whether it is morally right to sell banned drugs to patients or why some states should pass laws that conflict with federal and national regulations.
I guess that it may be true that constitutional theory no longer matters these days. President Bush has already proven that with his global Terror War.
In fact, as Lou Costello would have said to Bud Abott, ‘I don’t give a damn….’ about finding out who is involved in the supply or where it comes from, or even the design of the PVM.
I think I am more concerned with the status of the supplier of such ‘pain medication’. No wonder the inventor and federal authorities are having a running battle as each side had this to say:[….."Convenient access, lower prices, safety, anonymity," inventor and owner Vincent Mehdizadeh said, extolling the benefits of the machine.
But federal drug agents say the invention may need unplugging.
"Somebody owns (it), it's on a property and somebody fills it," said DEA Special Agent Jose Martinez. "Once we find out where it's at, we'll look into it and see if they're violating laws."….]
