Disorientated Whale Starves To Death On The Amazon
Or was it the starvation that caused the disorientation? The poor Minke Whale missed its way back to the Atlantic Ocean and strayed nearly two thousand kilometers into an Amazonian tributary.
It traveled that far in about two months, without its normal nourishing meal of planktons, being beached on the river banks a few times. The rescuers could not help the whale back to sea before it died - probably because they were not used to the magnitude and power of such a big fish in small waters.
