Are there too many reasons why some blogs get no traffic at all?
Not so many reasons, actually; but the few identified really pack a sucker punch. The following is like Jesus summarizing the Ten Commandments into two practical focus points for Christians - Blogger to Blogger, in this case.
In many communities, people prefer sticking to grouped kitchen cabinets day in and day out. You must have the same tastes and/or attitudes as the group members in order to belong cosily.
Social networking or group networking? Well, which one are we practicing here? Both are cogent questions that you should ask yourself first before venturing into an online membership grouping.
'Sometimes, my posts lie unread for like a week, and then suddenly I see the page views stepping up!' That's a typical frustrating response from any hardworking blogger.
It can be amazing how quickly the quality of a post becomes quickly irrelevant when there is no traffic to your blog - and you have no spare cash with which to induce the flow to "....Come on down' - as in Bob Barker's former TV show, THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
'Boy/girl, ain't you glad that our bread is not buttered here - or we'd really starve...?' Also a cry from a blogger's soul, literally; but thanks to paid reviews and, especially, Adsense revenues, bloggers can confidently get their just rewards in the end!
Some rather quite potent suggestions - with just a little help from my friends elsewhere on the Net:
1. Reply to others ...they will reciprocate....the more you respond to others, the more they will respond to you....subscribe, subscribe, subscibe ;)
2. Read other people's blogs and make comments - they'll see you and know you are around and respond or rciprocate or, even, 'retaliate', so to speak. It's like a jungle in cyberspace, tit for tat, the Golden Rule reigns supreme.
3. There are so many people online and unless they see you over and over again, you will get over looked - dig in, everyone is welcome online, so it isn't that you are ignored, it may be that they just didn't see you. :)
4. Talk and write about what you really like or know about, what your target audience or viewers like to read or see; otherwise, you could be without viewers for a week or more - generally, don't talk about religion, polly-ticks, poly-tricks, or other people (as in gossip), unless you want to do it full-time!
5. Network, mingle, complain about your cyber loneliness.....
Heeeheee haaahaaa - just trying the sympathy bit - got your heart strings going somehow? Great. See you later then - at the next post.
